College of Agriculture, University of Al-Qadisiyah organized an online workshop on mineral composition in soil and its relation to plants. The online workshop reviewed the origin of soil minerals, their building units, their divisions, common types and their relation to plants, as wel as considering that soil is a permanent reservoir in the preparation of soil with nutrients, which reflects the images of ready-made ions (dissolved and exchanged) and the positive ions possessed by these minerals within their building units called ion and Non-exchanged, which is considered as a permanent storage to supply the soil with elements in the event that there is a shortage of those elements in the soil solution. The online workshop demonstrated the ways of transferring these elements or ions to the plant through the roots through their transfer from solid particles represented by colloidal minerals and their arrival to the plant by absorbing these elements by the roots, as well as the most important chemical processes responsible for the liberation of those ions and their transfer to the soil solution.
