The faculty member in the College of Medicine, University of Misan, Dr. Haider Saadoun Qasim conducted a scientific study on male patients with prostate cancer. Dr. Qasim said that the study reviewed that this disease reached its top among patients whose ages range from (70-80) years, while the percentage of disease among smokers was (66.03%), while it was (13.2%) who had a family history. Of different types of cancer, (100%) of patients had metastatic cancer, and (56.6%) of patients had high-grade cancer (Gleason 8), while (77.35%) of patients had a PSA level> 100 ng / ml. Dr. Qasim added that the study highlighted that prostate cancer occurs due to the presence of a special risk factor such as advancing age, high blood pressure, family history, and the least likely in the presence of diabetes, and patients are more likely to have an advanced stage of prostate cancer (widespread and high degree).
