During chairing a meeting of the advanced staff, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi announced on inaugurating postgraduate (Master's) programs at the College of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Baghdad, starting with the 2025/2026 academic year to enhance the environment for future specializations and keep pace with global transformations in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital technologies.
Dr. Al-Aboudi reviewed that this track complements the decision to establish the College of Artificial Intelligence and was approved based on the approval of the Opinion Council, in line with specializations related to cognitive and technological development.
His Excellency said that the degree awarded will be a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence and will include specializations in Computer Vision within the Engineering Applications Department; Data Science within the Big Data Department, Robotics and Drone Engineering within the Engineering Applications Department, and Digital Health, Medical Diagnosis and Bioinformatics within the Biomedical Applications Department.
Dr. Al-Aboudi directed that August 3, 2025, be set as the application start date, and that the University Council will develop the academic calendar for the study according to its assigned responsibilities.
His Excellency stressed the need to enhance coordination with governorates and local governments regarding academic projects, support comprehensive digital transformation at universities and support safety measures in all university buildings.
Dr. Al-Aboudi emphasized the importance of integrating efforts and institutional performance in strategic projects, particularly the Central Laboratories Project.
His Excellency also reviewed that the past three years of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research have documented qualitative achievements of which Iraqis are proud and which demonstrate an advanced vision for the development of higher education in Iraq.
