Babylon University: On Myocardial Infarction

A study in the College of Nursing, University of Babylon reviewed evaluating the reasons behind of heart stroke and myocardial infarction in patients.

The study aimed at assessing the risk factors of myocardial infarction and reviewing the effect of smoking and obesity in increasing the incidence of heart attacks.

The study concluded the limited effect of non-changeable risk factors such as age and sex, as well as the effect of changeable factors such as obesity and smoking in causing heart stroke.

The study recommended preparing educational programs on how to reduce the impact and control the factors of obesity and smoking, conducting a healthy diet and increasing physical activity because of its role in reducing the incidence of heart attack.
