His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi announced the launch of the third edition of the Higher Education Reading Award, targeting undergraduate and graduate students and international students studying at Iraqi universities.
Dr. Al-Aboudi reviewed that this edition builds on the success of the previous two editions of the competition in stimulating reading and enhancing cognitive awareness.
His Excellency called on all students from public and private universities to actively participate in the award, emphasizing that the Ministry has created a stimulating environment for interaction with selected texts from solid books, in order to achieve its cultural goals.
Dr. Al-Aboudi highlighted that the third edition of the competition is based on reading the book (The Problem of Culture) by the Arab thinker Malek Bennabi, the total value of the award is 100 million Iraqi dinars, distributed among the top twenty contestants:
▪️Ten million dinars for the first place winner.
▪️Eight million dinars for the second place winner.
▪️Five and a half million dinars for the third place winner.
▪️Four and a half million dinars for each winner from fourth to twentieth place.
His Excellency demonstrated that the Ministerial Organizing Committee has set the application deadlines for the competition platform (https://ums-awards.mohesr.gov.iq/) from August 10, 2025 to September 28, 2025, as well as the Committee has designated Saturday, October 4, 2025, as the date for the online exam at 11:00 AM.
For it part, the committee draws the attention of all undergraduate and graduate students and international students continuing their studies at Iraqi universities to the fact that registration on the competition platform is done using their official university email address, enabling participating students to receive an electronic copy of the book (The Problem of Culture) and the exam access code in a timely manner.
