During a press conference of the signing ceremony, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi sponsored the inking Of an academic protocol between the Ministry and the IHE Delft Institute of Water Sciences within the framework of cooperation between the Republic of Iraq and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Dr. Al-Aboudi highlighted protocol which was signed at the headquarters of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and comes into effect today, Monday, May 26, 2025, includes strengthening the context of scholarships and cooperation opportunities between the Institute, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, universities and research centers, as well as developing joint educational and research programs to address water challenges.

Dr. Al-Aboudi emphasized the importance of understanding in the field of mutual scholarships within the Study in Iraq program, capacity building, skills development, training programs, curricula and academic programs related to water sciences and their specialized fields.

For his part, the Dean of the IHE Delft Institute of Water Sciences, Dr. Eddie Morris expressed his happiness at signing the joint cooperation protocol with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the agreement on student, research and academic exchange between Iraq and the Netherlands, as well as stressing the seriousness of working to ensure the success of the program and cooperation between the two institutions.

It is worth to be mentioned that the ceremony was attended by Her Excellency the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Ms. Janet Alberda.
