College of Science, University of Kirkuk discussed Ph.D. thesis on a depression as a biological trigger for increased activity in patients with rheumatoid arthritis by the postgraduate student, Ms. Shenest Ibrahim Mohammed.
The thesis aimed at analyzing the relationship between depression and biochemical and inflammatory changes in rheumatoid arthritis patients.
The thesis concluded that depression contributes to the exacerbation of inflammatory activity and that vitamin C was the most effective in inhibiting enzyme activity, enhancing the potential for adjuvant treatment in these cases.
