College of Agriculture, University of Karbala organized a symposium on the modern techniques role in artificial insemination in developing livestock.
The symposium, in which a number of researchers and representatives of the directorates participated, included identifying the importance and role of artificial insemination in the growth of the livestock sector, increasing production, breed good breeds and improve the genetic and productive characteristics of livestock.
The symposium recommended the need to preserve local cows as genetic resources for the purpose of genetic improvement, raise their productive efficiency and to train specialized embryo transfer and open centers to train staffs in increasing the quality of livestock in Iraq, reviweng importance of artificial insemination and raising its level because of its great economic return.
