College of Administration and Economics, University of Kirkuk held a symposium on the available options of privatization of Iraqi economy between 1980 - 2012.
The symposium highlighted the importance of privatization as an instrument of economic policy, with positive results that affect increasing State's revenues, as well as achieving of competition, economic efficiency and rapid transformation into a market economy.
The symposium urged citizens through the media means to deal with national products and services, set necessary regulations to avoid turning the public monopoly into a private monopoly, and stimulate competition among enterprises as well as produce goods and services that meet international market conditions.
