College of Agriculture, University of Kufa organized a symposium on using bio-fertilizers in agriculture, Dean of the College, Dr. Fadhil Hussain Al-Sahaf said.
Dr. Al-Sahaf added that the symposium, in which a number of researchers and specialists participated, included delivering a number of lectures on future prospects of bio- fertilizers in agricultural fields, identifying clean agriculture, the importance of bio fertilizers in improving agricultural production and damages resulting from using chemical fertilizers.
Dr. Al-Sahaf mentioned that the symposium recommended reducing chemical fertilizers, decreasing environmental pollution and maintaining soil fertility over the long term by supplying the soil with high numbers of beneficial microorganisms, thus changing the soil microbial balance.
