College of Education for Pure Sciences, Thi-Qar University discussed a master dissertation on the measurement of heavy metal concentrations in some human organs affected by cancer in Thi-Qar Governorate by the postgraduate student, Mr. Fadhel Abbas Saleh.
The dissertation aimed at
measuring the levels of heavy metal concentrations in
infected and healthy human tissues, studying tissue differences and
analyzing the relation between elevated
concentrations of these elements and the development of cancerous tumors.
The dissertation included an analysis of the concentrations
of several heavy metals in samples of living tissue taken from cancerous and
healthy organs.
The dissertation demonstrated that heavy metals are among
the most dangerous environmental pollutants that directly impact human health, furthermore, the concentrations of these
elements in cancerous tissues were significantly higher than those in healthy
tissues, as
well as confirming their
potential role in the development of malignant tumors.
