A faculty member in the College of Engineering, University of Al-Mustansiriyah obtained a patent on manufacturing a protective military helmet.
The patent, in which granted by the Malaysian Intellectual Property Corporation, included using of natural fibers in the military, civil, space and marine industries.
The patent reviewed manufacturing of an anti-shells helmet via hybridizing of natural fibers of kenaf as well as testing helmets according to the military standards, testing it against threats, maximum power absorption and hybridizing failure mechanism besides shock depth.
