During an inauguration ceremony of Iraq-Germany Laboratory of Water and Environment Analyzing in the College of Science, University of Baghdad, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Abdul Jalel Al-Esa reviewed the project of the Iraqi-German University in the field of Environment, Engineering and Economy.
His Excellency said that the inauguration of the laboratory and conducting environment analyzing are considered as an important step for Iraqi universities in term of equipping them via German techniques which is distinguished via their efficiency that manufactured by skillful experiences and Dr. Al-Esa confirmed that the development of our educational institutions is gradually escalating via joint academic cooperation and coordinating with German universities.
His Excellency added that the Ministry is keen on bridging its international academic relations, providing its institutions with the required consultations and enhancing cooperation in the field of modern technologies.
Dr. Al-Esa called on international universities and academic institutions to support Iraq in order to rehabilitate the universities that damaged by Daaish such as University of Mosul, which will resume studying next September, 2017.
His Excellency praised German University of Freiburg and German Embassy for their cooperation in accomplishing this important scientific project of academic exchanges.
For his part, Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Germany to Baghdad, Mr. Oliver Schnickberg expressed Germany’s keenness to support Iraq and the cooperation between German universities and their Iraqi counterparts will be increased.
For his part, President of the University of Baghdad, Dr. Alaa Abd Al-Hussein said that the cooperation between the University of Baghdad and German universities is dated back to previous years and Dr. Abd Al-Hussein stressing the University of Baghdad's keenness on expanding scientific and academic cooperation and establishing joint projects with international advanced universities.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Al-Esa awarded the representatives of the German University of Freiburg with certificates of appreciation and the necklace of the Ministry and the ceremony included holding a joint workshop included reviewing the academic achievement, mentioning the importance of modern technologies and encouraging scientific and academic cooperation with German universities.
