During the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the University of Technology, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi expressed his confidence in specialized universities in enhancing their global research outcomes and international partnerships.

 Dr. Al-Aboudi emphasized the importance of activating applied and professional programs in undergraduate and graduate studies, shifting them from theoretical realms to an environment of applied scientific research, this fulfills the philosophy of degrees linked to technological specializations, which should address the challenges facing society and leave a clear impact that saves effort and time in producing solutions and addressing the problems and difficulties that hinder the path of industrial development.

His Excellency honored a group of the university’s pioneers and a number of its former presidents. 

Dr. Al-Aboudi also inaugurated the University of Technology monument and an exhibition of student projects attended by international students.

It is worth to be mentioned that the celebration included delivering a presentation by the Deputy of the Ministry for Scientific Research, Dr. Haider Abd Dhahid on the higher education strategy in Iraq and the path of Iraqi universities in light of the achievements made, delivering a speech by the President of the University of Technology, Dr. Mohsen Nouri Hamza.
