During an online joint meeting with Qatari Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Wahid Al-Hammadi, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abid Al-Sahib said that the two sides reviewed methods to accelerate steps of activating the executive program of the Memorandum of Understanding in the Cultural, Scientific and Educational Cooperation in Higher Education. Dr. Abid Al-Sahib added that Iraq and Qatar agreed on academic cooperation between their universities in the field of scientific researches and the investment of knowledge in medical and engineering specialties. His Excellency continued by saying that the two sides highlighted the proposed cooperation mechanisms of the joint scientific researches, twinning programs, establishing multidisciplinary central laboratories and coordinating in the field of university ranking, scholarship file, visiting professor and joint supervision in postgraduate studies. For his part, Dr. Al Hammadi appreciated Iraqi academic scientific institutions’ keenness on developing the level of cooperation between the two countries. Dr. Al Hammadi welcomed the proposal to form joint working groups to implement the agreements between the two countries within the appropriate timelines. It is worth mentioning that the two sides reviewed the approved study programs in the two countries for the academic year 2021/2020, the mechanisms of blended education in light of the Corona pandemic and the guarantee plans that secure university examinations with the preventive procedures.
