Al-Nahrain University: On Streets Child Labor & Social Repercussions

Center of DNA for Research and Training, University of Al-Nahrain organized a symposium on the social repercussions of child labor in the streets.

The symposium, in which a number of researchers and specialists participated, included delivering four lectures on the social effects on child labor, the role of the community police in reducing child labor in the streets, legal procedures against this issue and the role of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in decreasing child labor phenomena.

The symposium recommended establishing mental rehabilitation centers for displaced children, forming laws to address the phenomenon of child labor and activating the role of social security institutions to help poor families and reduce the phenomenon of leaving schools to work in difficult living conditions in order to support their families.
