Colleges of Pharmacy in the Universities of Al-Nahrain and Al-Mustansiriyah obtained a patent on using of propion given orally or as eye drops as a new medicine in preventing cataract disease in rabbits.
The patent, in which granted by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control Unit of the Ministry of Planning, aimed at evaluating the potential role of propionians in preventing cataract-induced celiac disease in rabbits.
The patent concluded that giving (5.0%) of biproids as eye drops twice a day to complete prevention of cataract disease.
