College of Political Sciences, University of Al-Nahrain organized a symposium on civil society and its role in crisis management. The symposium addressed the emerging crisis of Corona and the prospects for the relation between the Iraqi government effort and civil society organizations. The symposium reviewed obstacles that Iraq faced in light of the Corona crisis, such as political obstacles, economic obstacles and the absence of governmental and external support. The symposium recommended the necessity of spreading the culture of democracy based on dialogue, respect for other opinion, tolerance and transparency and the necessity of establishing a free media that guarantees the freedom of information and opinions in society without restrictions.
