During a meeting with the Chargé D'affaires at the American Embassy to Baghdad, Mr. Brian McFeeters and Head of Public Relations Department, Mr. John Kincannon, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abid Al-Sahib reviewed developing scholarship programs and activating the Fulbright program and international educational exchange. Dr. Abid Al-Sahib highlighted importance of developing cooperation in the field of vocational and technical education and rare specialties. His Excellency also reviewed that the Ministry directed strengthening the mentioned fields in a manner that serve the educational process in the Iraq. For his part, Mr. McFeeters expressed U.S’s readiness on cooperating in the educational and cultural field, as well as the American side presented a number of programs to train Iraqi students in different universities and hold agreements between American universities and some universities in liberated cities from ISIS. For his part, Mr. Kincannon expressed the importance to develop the relation between the two countries in the field of higher education, meeting the needs of the labor market and preparing Iraqi students in the required specializations.
