Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research reviewed that a number of Iraqi public universities achieved an increase in the academic published researches in the journals and conferences accredited by Scopus, as well as the publishing 57,370, Ministry’s Deputy for Scientific Research Affairs, Dr. Ghasan Hameed Abdul Majeed said. Dr. Abdul Majeed added that the public universities achieved an important increase via publishing 12840 researches from January 1, until October 25 of the academic year 2020. Dr. Abdul Majeed continued by saying that the private universities and colleges published 2019 researches. Dr. Abdul Majeed demonstrated that the reasons for the increase in the number of Iraqi researches accredited in Scopus are the adoption of a number of Iraqi journals and conferences in Scopus and amending the instructions for promotions and granting degrees to graduate students for scientific publishing, as well as intensifying the efforts of researchers and motivating the researchers from the Ministry and universities towards recognized publishing.
