College of Science, University of Kirkuk organized a symposium on waste recycling to support Iraqi economy.
The symposium, in which a number of researchers and specialists participated, included addressing problem of solid waste and environmental effects worldwide, contribution to increase environmental pollution, taking appropriate procedures in collecting and transporting waste and researching types of solid houses’ waste and materials resulting from human activities and goods.
The symposium aimed at developing a culture of citizen's motivation to sort solid waste and developing concept of solid waste management, as well as supporting capacities of municipal departments to mitigate the environmental degradation resulting from random disposal of waste.
