The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research inked a strategic cooperation agreement with the international organization Clarivate, the  agreement aims at strengthening the scientific research system in Iraq and implementing specialized programs to develop the capacities of researchers and academics in the fields of scientific publishing, funding management and innovation.

Higher Education reviewed that the agreement includes analyzing national scientific production based on Clarivate databases and promoting scientific research directed towards sustainable development goals, as well as developing development plans to improve Iraqi universities' positions in international rankings and implementing specific academic capacity-building programs to enhance the competitiveness of Iraqi universities at the regional and international levels.

The Ministry affirmed that the agreement represents an extension of the qualitative international partnerships sponsored by His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi, with prestigious international institutions, such as Elsevier and Times Higher Education.
