College of Pharmacy, University of Karbala organized a symposium on the latest research in the fields of medical herbs and drugs.
The symposium, in which a number of specialists participated, aimed at identifying the latest methods of implementing herbs in drugs manufacturing and reviewing modern implantations of herbs in the fields of preclusion, treatment of chronic diseases and nutrition.
The symposium included mechanisms of extracting active substances from plants by using the technology of microwave and using herbal additives in pharmaceutical dosages as well as enlightening on some of the diseases that infect the medical herbs.
The symposium reviewed the importance of the medical herbs as a therapy for some types of diseases caused by cellphones and the pharmacological, biological and toxic properties of natural products besides the quality control standards in evaluating the extracted drugs from natural sources.
