College of Engineering, University of Wasit organized a symposium on hazardous wastes and their source, impact and how to control them.
The symposium, in which a number of researchers and specialists participated, aimed at providing engineering methods for the specialists on how to dump the hazardous wastes in order to prevent their risks against human and environment.
The symposium, included identifying hazardous wastes, control them, and packaging indications and labels of hazardous materials and reviewing the methods of treating the hazardous wastes besides the environmental risks impact on human, animal, air, water and soil.
The symposium recommended activating the legal instructions and national criteria to protect public health, remove and reduce exposure to chemical material and hazardous wastes and reducing pesticides use in agriculture.
