The faculty member in the College of Basic Education, University of Al-Mustansiriyah, Dr. Iman Younis Ibrahim Al-Abadi published a book entitled (Child Health and Nutrition). The book aimed at building an intellectual base on food and its effects on the child in society in general, providing mothers and specialists in raising the child with adequate information on the ideal nutrition for the child in his/her various age stages and reviewing the implications of malnutrition on the immune system for kids. The book reviewed the main elements of human food, the ideal nutritional needs of the child and breastfeeding, the requirements for proper nutrition for nursery, kindergarten and school children, the role of educational institutions in ensuring that children must have safe and healthy nutrition, as well as demonstrating the factors affecting child health in general. The book demonstrated the impact of food on a child's behavior, nutritional culture and maternal nutrition awareness, its importance for children, physiological and biological changes during pregnancy, child health education strategies, types of food contaminants and methods of reducing them. It is worth mentioning that the book included of 404 pages in fourteen chapters.
