During a meeting with the Governor of Kirkuk, Mr. Rakan Saeed Al-Jubouri, a number of Governorate officials and the Presidents of the Kirkuk and Northern Technical Universities, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abid Al-Sahib directed the study of the projects of Hawija University and a specialized technical university in Kirkuk Governorate. Dr. Abid Al-Sahib stressed on the importance of taking into account the required specialties in the developments, forming of a specialized committee to follow up and reviewing the details according to the approved priorities, the importance of integration between the university and all Governorate institutions, developing the cooperation to most economic and technological, social and health fields and harnessing the capabilities of the university institution and its research capabilities to formulate and propose applied solutions for treatment and development processes. His Excellency called on supporting university faculty members and employees and investing the powers of the province to provide them with suitable housing lands, as they are an important segment that contributes to scientific development and provides great services to the community in Kirkuk, which includes a national diversity that deserves the necessary care, follow-up and support. For his part, Mr. Al-Jubouri expressed his optimism about the visit of His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abid Al-Sahib to the province, as well as stressing that Kirkuk is a city for everyone and looks at university institutions with great interest as it nourishes all the institutions of the State with scientific and cultural faculty members and provides society with the needed services. It is worth mentioning that the meeting was attended by the Ministerial delegation, as well as the attendees reviewed a map of university projects in the province and the allocated amounts within the regions development programs and the investment plan.
