Department of Environment and Water, merged Ministry of Science and Technology participated in the 13th Conference on Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy, Tunis.
The participation included using gamma rays and cold plasma in removing or reducing the toxicity of contaminated grain, where samples of wheat and rice were irradiated by gamma rays via using a cobalt radiator source in the Tunisian Atomic Energy Agency with different irradiation doses within the permissible limits, others outside these limits and for more than once
