Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced results of the Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects for the year 2022 showed that the University of Baghdad had obtained a competitive position within the chemical engineering major. Higher Education reviewed that the official website of the Shanghai ranking (https://www.shanghairanking.com/rankings/gras/2022) highlighted that the University of Baghdad with its counterparts in the Shanghai ranking of specializations obtained the score (401-500) within the specialty of chemical engineering. Higher Education demonstrated that the 2022 edition of the results ranked one thousand eight hundred universities from ninety-six countries in fifty-four majors in the natural sciences, engineering, biosciences, medical sciences and sociology according to five evaluation criteria distributed among research outputs, research impact, international cooperation, research quality and international awards and in the light of databases ( web of science). It is worth mentioning that Iraqi universities and colleges obtained top scores competition in international rankings, such as the (The Times) ranking in which four universities obtained the ranking, the (QS) ranking in which there are five universities obtained the ranking, the (Scimago) ranking in which there are twenty-two institutions obtained the ranking,  (Greenmetric) ranking in which sixty-six Iraqi universities and colleges and the URAP ranking in which there are four Iraqi universities obtained the ranking, as well as the Webometrics ranking in which of eighty-nine Iraqi universities and colleges obtained the ranking.
