Technical College of Al-Musayyib, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University organized an online workshop on photodynamic therapy against cancer, the Faculty Member in the College, Dr. Alaa Al-Haddad said. Dr. Al-Haddad added that the online workshop reviewed that the method is one of the modern methods of treating cancer that began since 1975 and then the researchers continued developing this therapy to be one of the therapeutic methods that target tumors compared to the rest of the common methods of treatment for carcinogenic cells. Dr. Al-Haddad continued by saying that the online workshop also reviewed that this method does not cause side effects with low cost. Dr. Al-Haddad highlighted that the online workshop demonstrated the compounds in the treatment which include a non-toxic photosensitizer with a harmless LASER to activate the photosensitizer to activate and convert the oxygen in the cancer cells from inactive to effective and their roots are free then to target the cancer cells and kill them.
