College of Political Science, University of Al-Mustansiriyah held an online workshop on the impact of the Corona virus crisis on the international relations, via the Google classroom application, Dean of the College, Dr. Khalid Abdul Illah said. Dr. Abdul Illah added that the online workshop, in which a number of researchers, faculty members and specialists participated, highlighted the effects that the new Corona virus imposed on international relations among the world countries and role of the crisis of creating new international alliances. Dr. Abdul Illah continued by saying that the online workshop reviewed the reasons behind the differences among the European Union due to the Corona virus crisis, after abandoning the support for Italy and Spain, which were among the most affected countries by the virus and the motives that led the United States not to assist its allies. It is worth mentioning that the online workshop also reviewed that the support by China and Russia to the European Union’s countries to confront the pandemic, warns of the possibility of the collapse of previous alliances in the future and the emergence of new alliances with the possibility of changing the methods of the international system after the elimination of the Corona virus.
