College of Biotechnology, University of Al-Nahrain discussed a Ph.D. thesis on using of colon tumor tissue culture to link genetic profile with therapeutic response by the postgraduate student, Mr. Zaid Nassif Abbas. The thesis demonstrated the reliance of transcriptome study on RNA sequencing followed via comprehensive bioinformatics analyzes that showed a large variation in the gene expression profile between 2D and 3D cells. The thesis concluded that there is an urgent need for new techniques that reduce time consumption and material cost and help in the success of clinical trials, and there is an urgent need for advanced laboratory tests that provide accurate results to ensure that the results of computer tests do not conflict with the results that can be obtained when experimenting on the living body.
