Basrah University’s Ph.D. Thesis: On Morphotectonic Phenomena & Archaeological Mounds  in Southern Iraq

College of Science, University of Basrah discussed a Ph.D. thesis on the identification and analysis of morphotectonic phenomena and the archaeological hills of Mesopotamia in southern Iraq via using remote sensing and GIS techniques by the postgraduate student, Mr. Milad Ali Hussein. The thesis aimed at using of active, passive and multi-spectral image processing analysis to address and highlight its use of archaeological surveys and comparison between them for verification and health on the ground. The thesis recommended using of aerial surveillance techniques via using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to obtain high-resolution images to detect visible and buried archaeological scenes.
