During a meeting with the delegation from the Private University for Applied Science in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, which included the university’s president, Dr. Mahfoudh Judeh and the faculty member of cancer biology and immunology in the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Wamidh Hadi Talib, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abid Al-Sahib called for holding an Arab conference for private universities and colleges and studying to establish a fund to support scientific research. Dr. Abid Al-Sahib stressed on the importance to hold an international Arab conference for private universities and colleges and in cooperation with the Association of Arab Universities to conduct a comprehensive review that contributes to enrich knowledge, update the compass of innovations and set plans responsible for scientific, financial and administrative regulation to serve quality requirements and determine the graduates according to the requirements of academic accreditation and strengthen the fields that In it that the scientific experiments can be meet to ensure the benefit of the Arab countries according to the priorities for the determinants of scientific and economic feasibility. His Excellency added that the university education in the current period is under the authority of changes, which requires educational institutions to move towards policies and mechanisms that are characterized by quality, flexibility, efficiency and competitiveness, keeping pace with the rapid development and movement of knowledge, extrapolating indicators and challenges and establishing special addressing to secure an educational environment worthy of achieving comprehensive development. Dr. Abid Al-Sahib reviewed that there is an urgent need for concerted efforts to advance Arab scientific research, enhance the international reputation, and benefit from specialized applied research, especially in the medical and health fields. For his part, Dr. Judeh expressed the Applied Science Private University's readiness on providing aspects of cooperation and coordination with the specialized Iraqi universities, colleges and institutes in light of global changes, challenges and requirements. Dr. Judeh praised the project of the Arab Conference for Private Universities and Colleges that was called for by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It is worth mentioning that the meeting was attended by the Director of the Scholarships and Cultural Relations, Dr. Hazim Baqer Taher.
