During a meeting with US Ambassador to Iraq, Mrs. Alina Romanowski and the accompanying delegation, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abid Al-Sahib reviewed academic cooperation between Iraqi and American universities, cultural exchange within the Fulbright Foreign Student Program and the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program. Dr. Abid Al-Sahib stressed that the Memoranda of Understanding between the two countries provided a positive scientific climate for the development of joint expertise, skills, curricula and specialized research. His Excellency added that hundreds of Iraqi students studying at American universities and who graduated from them were distributed through scholarships, fellowships, study leave and private expense. Dr. Abid Al-Sahib highlighted that the Ministry is keen on international partnerships, keeping pace with scientific changes, adapting challenges and benefiting from advanced global experiences. For her part, Mrs. Romanowski expressed her appreciation for the Iraqi academic institution's keenness on cultural exchange, developing capabilities and quoting indicators of development in international universities, especially American ones. Mrs. Romanowski demonstrated the importance of joint coordination in light of the agreement and scientific and academic Memoranda of Understanding between the two countries.
